If you are into hiking near Portland, Oregon, you probably already know about portlandhikers.org. You might not know that every year they produce a really cool Portland hiking calendar.
Sales of the calendar, which includes photos from users on the site, benefit Trailkeepers of Oregon, which runs the website. TKO’s mission is “to protect and enhance the Oregon hiking experience through advocacy, stewardship, outreach and education.” I am very honored to have recently been elected to TKO’s Board of Directors.
I have an extra copy of this beautiful calendar, and I will be giving it away on Monday (NOTE: This little deal has expired, but the calendar is still cool). All you have to do to be entered is sign up for my completely free, every-few-weeks-or-so “Breakfast Bulletin” newsletter, which you can do right here. Deadline is midnight Sunday, January 25th. Winner will be notified on Monday the 26th.
The Bulletin started as an extension of my Breakfast in Bridgetown project, but it has since expanded to include all the stuff I write about: hiking, Portland Heritage Trees, my group trips to Italy, spiritual ramblings, and English soccer.
So, great calendar, great hiking website, great nonprofit cause, and (I’d like to think) a decent little newsletter from a mildly competent writer. What’s not to like?
Sign up today to be entered in the calendar give-away!
