This week I tried to hike the North Siouxon Trail on the Gifford Pinchot National Forest — not the Siouxon Trail, which is in my book, 60 Hikes Within 60 Miles of Portland.
I could not find the trailhead, though. I used a map from the State of Washington, and couldn’t find it. I have since looked up the directions in a guidebook, and I can tell from reading it that it won’t help, either.
If you’ve tried it, or maybe looked at the map or book, I’ll summarize it thusly: Seems like the S1000 disappeared. And even then, directions like “Stay on the S1000” aren’t so helpful when there are roads all over the place. and not all intersections are marked.
So I’m putting it out there: Does anybody have specific info on where this trailhead is? Please put them into the comments below.
