I’ve got another review of a Portland breakfast place over on my breakfast blog, Breakfast in Bridgetown. It’s from a visit to the Hawthorne Street Cafe in Southeast Portland, which has been there for years and has a loyal following, but which never quite rises to the top of the Portland breakfast scene.
As for the former, it’s popular because it’s got charm and a nice vibe, and extremely (for some folks too) friendly staff. It really feels like visiting somebody’s house.
As for the latter, it would be one of the most popular places for Portland breakfast … if only the food was better than “pretty good.” No matter how yummy this wild salmon Benedict looks — and it was yummy — it’s not one of the better Benedicts in Portland.
For the whole review, head on over to the blog.
